Fred Baron - Chair Emeritus, PGA Green West

Fred is currently EVP of Feature Production at Twentieth Century Fox. With Fox since 1990, he has overseen the production of feature films that include Knight & Day, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Borat, Edward Scissorhands, Broken Arrow, Romeo and Juliet and both X-Files features.



Fred took a hiatus from Fox from 1999-2001 to produce the critically acclaimed film Moulin Rouge with Baz Luhrmann, which won many awards including the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award and received a Best Picture nomination from the Motion Picture Academy.


 

Kathleen Courtney - Chair, PGA Green West

Kathleen has enjoyed working as Producer, Production Manager or EVP of Production on such feature films as Bowfinger, The Score, Daredevil, Law Abiding Citizen and Lucky You, among others. Her most recent film is the upcoming Of Men And Mavericks, due out in October 2012.

Kathleen is serving her fourth term on the Board of Directors of the PGA, and is the Chair of the PGA Green Committee West. She helped  launch PGAgreen.org and GreenProductionGuide.com, and is also a founding member of the entertainment industry's Green Production Alliance, having been elected to their first steering committee.

Kathleen spends her free time helping homeless dogs finding permanent placement in loving homes, and is very involved in the holistic medical treatment of animals.

 


 

 

Amanda Scarano Carter - Chair, PGA Green West

Amanda is Studio Director of New Masters Studio, a boutique film studio in El Segundo, CA.  Additionally, she consults as LA Partner for Greenshoot UK, providing environmental consultancy and management for filming.

Amanda’s previous experience spans over 20 years of film production, including overseeing physical production and co-producing films for 13 years at Pierce Brosnan's MGM based film production company, Irish DreamTime, including The Thomas Crown Affair, Evelyn and The Matador.

She has been involved with PGAgreen.org since its inception and has also worked as part of PGA Green’s Steering Committee for GreenProductionGuide.com.

Amanda is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and the UCLA Anderson School of Management's Executive Management Program.



 

 

 

Rachael Joy - Co-Chair, PGA Green West

A filmmaker and activist, Rachael Joy is passionate about great storytelling and the environment. As a producer of "It's Easy Being Green" for HGTV, Rachael shot with green luminaries such as Willie Nelson, John Cougar Mellencamp, Paul Newman, Daryl Hannah, and renowned chef Alice Waters. She's produced stories covering the Solar Decathlon, 40th anniversary of Earth Day, climate change, sustainable fashion, organic gardening and the BP oil spill. She’s been featured talent in the Environmental Defense Fund’s "Climate Change Campaign" video series and was host of Treehugger’s "Green Holiday Gift Guide" for PlanetGreen.com. She recently founded EcoPop TV, where she produces and hosts a series dedicated to green stories that are fun, informative and occasionally irreverent. 


 

Lydia Dean Pilcher – Chair, PGA Green East

Lydia is founder of Cine Mosaic, an independent production company with an energetic focus on entertaining stories that promote social, cultural and political diversity. She has produced over 30 feature films that include, The Reluctant Fundamentalist (dir: Mira Nair). You Don't Know Jack (dir: Barry Levinson), and The Darjeeling Limited (dir: Wes Anderson).

Nominated for 3 Golden Globes, 2 Emmys and 3 PGA Awards, Pilcher is based in New York City and specializes in international co-productions and independent film finance based on studio and independent models.  

Lydia has served two terms as Vice Chair of the PGA East, and is currently a member of the PGA National Board. She is a presenter for The Climate Reality Project which is founded and chaired by Al Gore.


 


Mari Jo Winkler – Chair, PGA Green East

Mari Jo recently Executive Produced Doug Liman’s Fair Game starring Noami Watts and Sean Penn. She has also Executive Produced Away We Go, Dan in Real Life and No Reservations and has Co-Produced Lucky You, In Her Shoes and Shall We Dance.

She is a dedicated environmentalist and connected Earthmark/Green Media Solutions with Focus Features to participate in a ground breaking pilot program to study the greening efforts on the film Away We Go.

She lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.


 
 

Katherine Carpenter - Co-Chair, PGA Green East

Katherine is an award-winning documentary producer specializing in environmental subjects from endangered species to climate change in diverse habitats around the world. Her projects include Hundred Heartbeats, A Year on Earth, and Race to Save the Planet. In 2007 she was trained as a climate presenter by Al Gore and The Climate Project.

She is currently a carbon-reduction consultant with Green Media Solutions helping to green the sets of Nightly News with Brian Williams, Saturday Night Live, Boardwalk Empire and the feature films Away We Go, It’s Complicated and Morning Glory

She lives with her two daughters and a Catahoula Leopard dog in New York City.

Steven Holtzman – PGA Green Facebook Administator

A graduate from the University of Pittsburgh's creative writing program, Steven's path in the entertainment industry exposed him to feature films, commercials, and web content. Recently, Steven was UPM on Badma$h Company, Line Producer for the Colbert Report's HD show opener, and LP for the HGTV show All American Handyman. His feature credits include Associate Producer on both Great World of Sound and Adrift in Manhattan which screened at Sundance, and Packaging and Web Producer for the stunning indie feature La Soga that screened internationally. His latest producing effort Forged, won HBO's NYILFF in 2010, will premiere in theaters soon.



Vicente Williams – PGA Green.org / Facebook Administator

A New Media geek at heart with an incredibly creative streak. His accomplishments include work on DVD titles from Universal Studios, Metro Goldwyn Mayer, Warner Brothers and four years producing digital content at MTV. Some of his previous employers include FOX, The RAND Corporation, The Learning Company and many more.

He is a proud member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group and the PGA's New Media Council. In his spare time Vicente has lectured at UCLA extension and volunteers with local entertainment charities.
